Channel 4 To Air Classic Shows For 25th Birthday

Channel 4 Logo Channel 4 is to celebrate its 25th birthday by giving viewers the chance to watch hours of their favourite shows.

The hit programmes, including Father Ted and Brookside, will be aired each night on More4 from September 30 until the channel’s birthday weekend on November 2.

Classic episodes of shows such as Brookside, Comic Strip, Queer As Folk and Dispatches will be shown, ranging from new programmes to ones from the channel’s launch in 1982.

The season will also run on 4oD, the broadcaster’s video-on-demand service, offering viewers additional episodes of many of the shows aired on More4.

Cosmo Lush, head of product management at Channel 4, said: “It’s only right that More4 and 4oD should celebrate 25 years of Channel 4 in a modern, innovative way entirely befitting of the multiplatform landscape of today.

“We have opened up our archive for this limited period to celebrate these fantastic shows but it’s totally up to you when and how you watch it.”
