Channel 4’s Barnes Confirmed For Television Seminar

MediaTel Group Logo Andy Barnes, sales director at Channel 4, has been confirmed as a panelist at the forthcoming MediaTel Group full-day seminar on the Future Of Television.

Barnes will be taking part in the morning session alongside industry luminaries Jim Marshall, chairman of Starcom Mediavest Group; Mark Howe, country director, UK sales at Google and media journalist Ray Snoddy. The BBC’s Torin Douglas will chair the discussion.

Topics expected to be discussed include; which TV companies are about to gain or lose in the annual trading deals, are digital extensions continuing to compensate for loss of audience on the lead channels and can BARB keep up with the new technologies.

Each session will begin with a presentation from MediaTel INSIGHT on the latest facts and figures about the market before the extensive panel debate gets underway.

The afternoon’s panel includes Jon Wilkins, managing partner at Naked; Peter Cowley, managing director of digital media at Endemol UK and Rahul Chakkara, controller, BBCi, with more panelists to be confirmed.

The afternoon session should look at where IPTV fits in the broadcast and the communications mix and how far beyond the TV spot does the communications schedule now go, amongst other topics.

Delegates can attend for the full day or come to either the morning or afternoon session.

The morning session will run from 9.30am-12.30pm, with lunch from 12.45pm-1.45pm. The afternoon session runs from 2pm-5pm.

The event will take place at ABN AMRO, 250 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 4AA.
