ZenithOptimedia Bags Third Straight Sports Quiz Win

Trophy ZenithOptimedia’s team of sporting gurus recorded their third straight win at the annual MediaTel Group charity sports quiz held on Wednesday evening.

Competing against teams including Starcom Mediavest, News International, Vizeum, CBS Outdoor and GMTV, ‘The Sporting Spudguns’ consisting of Gareth Pugh, Seb Biggins, Pete Williams, Darren Berry and Iain Ogilvie, won by a remarkable 27 points.

For a while they were pursued by one of the News International teams (aka Becky and Sam’s Fan Club) and the team from CBS Outdoor (aka the Camden Crawlers).

“If those boys can answer which European country won the Elephant Polo World Championship title in 1995 it just goes to prove they should all get out more!” noted one competitor.

The evening raised over £450 for the Sunshine House School run by the RNIB.

MediaTel Group is now considering a handicap system for next year’s event.

Other questions included the Rugby World Cup’s top points scorer; at which ground did Sachin Tendulkar make his first test century; who finished fourth in the recent World Championship heptathlon; identifying Rugby League refereeing signals and naming football shirts kindly modelled by two young ladies from the pages of the Sun.
