International Family Entertainment’s takeover of TVS has finally been agreed this week, after months of wrangling and negotiating with preference share- holders. The US company is now planning to launch the Family Channel in the UK, to begin in September, with a format similar to that used in the States. It will transmit on Astra and stakes in the company have been offered to various interested parties including one ITV company.
