IPC Southbank Homes Portal Boosts Its Team

IPC Media Logo IPC Southbank’s new online homes portal, www.housetohome.co.uk, has made five key appointments to its team, including the recruitment of an editor, David Gadd.

Gadd is currently a senior manager at AOL UK, where he is responsible for the editorial planning of AOL’s homepage.

He joined AOL in 2001 as editor of news, later becoming senior editor. He has also worked at ITN as multimedia producer and BBC News Online as senior multimedia co-ordinator.

Isobel McKenzie-Price, editorial director, said: “David’s years of online experience and enthusiasm for housetohome.co.uk made him the perfect candidate to take the editor’s position. I’m really looking forward to working with David to take this already impressive website to the next stages of its development.”

Gadd added: “I am delighted to be joining IPC’s homes interest team. I cannot wait to get started in this new role, developing housetohome.co.uk into an online leader and a must for consumers and advertisers.”

Three new content managers will also report to Gadd. They are: Charlotte Duckworth, currently at handbag.com; Jessamy Hawley, who joins from GadgetCandy.co.uk; and Ben Richards, currently Ideal Home web and features editor.

In addition, Nicole Story will join housetohome.co.uk as associate publisher, reporting to publishing director Yvonne Ramsden. Story is currently online commercial manager at Ideal Home.

Ramsden said: “housetohome.co.uk is a major digital launch for IPC Southbank and it’s great to have Nicole on board to drive the website commercially. Southbank’s unrivalled expertise in the home interest sector gives housetohome.co.uk a great advantage, and with a dedicated team in place, this innovative site is in a fantastic position.”

Housetohome.co.uk launched at the end of May (see IPC Unveils New Homes Portal). Designed to be a one-stop-shop for every home design and decorating need, it enables visitors to develop their homes ideas and with its wide range of planning tools and expert advice.

Earlier this month, IPC Media appointed Nick Bradley as its new director of digital advertising. The new role encompasses the development and implementation of an integrated digital advertising strategy across the company (see IPC Continues Digital Focus With New Appointment).
