New Deputy Editor For Woman’s Own

IPC Media Logo IPC Connect has appointed Natasha Cook as the new deputy editor of consumer title Woman’s Own.

Natasha joins Connect IPC Southbank, where she was deputy editor of monthly glossy woman&home.

Natasha’s career has included roles across a number of high profile magazines, including Take A Break, Bella, Cosmopolitan, and SHE as features editor, before joining woman&home.

“I’m delighted to join Woman’s Own at such an exciting time,” said Cook. “It’s a magazine with an extremely loyal audience and I can’t wait to join Karen and the rest of the editorial team and continue the excellent work they have begun on one of our nation’s best-loved brands.”

Woman’s Own editor, Karen Livermore, added: “I am thrilled to have Natasha join Woman’s Own as we continue to bed down the magazine’s radical new look.

“Her wealth of experience across weekly and monthly magazines and newspapers will be an asset as we continue to develop Woman’s Own.”

At the most recent consumer magazine ABCs, for July to December 2006, the title recorded a year on year decline of almost 13% in a somewhat volatile women’s weekly sector (see ABC Results Jul-Dec 2006:Take A Break Leads Women’s Weekly Market). Its total circulation now stands at 356,811 after shedding almost 53,000 copies.

In April, IPC announced Ithat it was investing £2 million in marketing to push Woman’s Own, revamping the title and raising its cover price in a bid to arrest falling sales (see Woman’s Own Revamps In Bid To Halt Declining Sales).
