New RAJAR Diary Survey To Deliver Results In August

RAJAR Logo At today’s press conference announcing the latest RAJAR figures for Q4 2006, it was announced that RAJAR is on track to reveal the first results from the new diary survey for the second quarter of 2007, to be released in August.

In addition, the new TNS/Arbitron Personal People Meter (PPM) panel has been set up, covering 711 individuals in 239 households.

The trial will happen in London, and to date 48 London stations have been encoded.

The electronic PPM survey currently covers 711 individuals in 239 households with 48 London stations encoded.

RAJAR announced in May 2006 its plans for a two-year audience measurement contract starting in January this year, to be split between Ipsos MORI, RSMB and TNS (see RAJAR Announces 2007 Measurement Contract Details), with RAJAR joining forces with BARB on the electronic PPM survey (see BARB Trials Portable Meters With Radio Body).

The panel is intended to act as a learning outlet for the entire radio industry, whilst preparing the way for a move to a full electronic system for radio when it becomes feasible.

Data from the panel is to be analysed separately and will not be integrated in to the main currency. The electronic measurement panel will run for two years and deliver weekly data from radio stations across four platforms: analogue, DAB, DTV and Internet.
