BBC Stole The Show With New Tricks

New Tricks BBC One stole the show last night, gaining the highest number of viewers compared to its rival channels from 8pm onwards, with only a short break for the second episode of ITV1’s Coronation Street between 8.30pm and 9pm.

New Tricks continued to dominate the 9pm Monday evening slot, pulling in more than 8.3 million viewers with a 34% average audience share during the hour-long programme.

At the same time, ITV1’s Superhuman: World’s Smallest People new documentary failed to compete, only gaining a 18% audience share with 4.4 million viewers.

BBC Two’s Dragon’s Den attracted 13% of the audience share, falling just below ITV1 by 1 million people, with 3.4 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm.

The big soaps had a good night, with ITV1’s Coronation Street picking up more than 8 million viewers for each half-hour trip to the street, while over 8.6 million viewers tuned in to see the return of Jim Branning to BBC One’s Eastenders.

Channel 4 peaked with Big Brother again, pulling in more than 3.3 million peak viewers, with an average 16% audience share between 10pm and 11pm.
