Q Radio To Relaunch Next Month

Q Magazine Q Radio is to relaunch next month with an exclusive show from rock group REM and a new evening programme hosted by former XFM and BBC 2 Desi DNA presenter Samanthi.

Q Radio currently exists as a jukebox-style digital radio station, but following the relaunch on June 2 it will be available on DAB digital radio in London, alongside Freeview, satellite and cable and online. It will also be available as the radio player on FHM.com.

Ric Blaxill, Q Radio programme director, said: “We are working with a variety of established and new artists to provide us with exclusive content which is testimony to the power of the Q brand.

“There will be exclusive live sets which only Q could secure, alongside unique opportunities for the audiences to interact with our presenters and the bands themselves – not to mention the most innovative, informed and considered music and some cracking lifestyle and entertainment features.”

Former Radio 1 and 6 Music chief Blaxill joined Bauer Radio as a launch consultant in February, with the company preparing to launch a range of new propositions (see Bauer Hires Blaxill For Digital Radio Push).
