Q Radio Announces New Line Up

Radio Bauer’s Q Radio has named Eddie Piller and Russell Kane as new resident presenters ahead of its launch on 2 June.

Piller is due to host a weekly Friday night slot, while Kane is set to head up a weekly Sunday comedy show.

Last week the station announced that former XFM and BBC 2 presenter, Samanthi, would take on the flagship daily evening slot (see Q Radio To Relaunch Next Month).

Ric Blaxill, Q Radio programme director, said: “Signing Russell, Eddie and Samanthi shows just how important personality, passion and talent will be to Q Radio. Whilst these will be three very different shows, they will all share a common goal to create ‘must-listen’ radio.”

Piller’s radio career started on Jazz FM before moving to BBC Radio London and BBC 6 music, where he hosted the BBC Funk & Soul show.

Kane is known as a stand-up comedian, writer and performer with regular TV and radio appearances.

Q Radio currently exists as a juke-box style digital radio station with 282,000 listeners a week but is set to be relaunched next month on DAB digital radio in London, alongside Freeview, satellite and cable and online.

It will also be available as the radio player on FHM.com, which Bauer Radio says will make it accessible to an additional two million global online users.
