Trinity Mirror Expands Hyper Local Offering

Trinity Mirror Trinity Mirror is to roll out its hyper local community websites nationwide, beginning with two Coventry sites in April.

The Coventry websites, which launch in the Coventry Telegraph‘s circulation area in April, will feature user-generated content including readers’ blogs and photos, and follow a successful pilot in Teesside.

Trinity Mirror launched 22 postcode-specific hyper local websites in Teesside from December 2006, with Northumberland now tipped for a series of the hyper local sites.

Since it launched the sites, Trinity Mirror has taken the content from five Teesside hyper local websites and created five print newsletters which are delivered to houses in the area.

A Trinity Mirror spokesman is quoted by Brand Republic as saying: “We’re looking at rolling it out to Coventry in April with two sites there and more to follow.

“We’re obviously looking at further hyper local initiatives across the Trinity Mirror business.”

Trinity Mirror recently announced that its digital revenues now represent 7% of its regional revenues and 10% of profits.
