Trinity Set To Launch Mobile Web Platform For The Daily Mirror

The Daily Mirror Trinity Mirror has developed a mobile web platform for its newspaper titles in a deal with Nokia and Bluestar Mobile.

The Daily Mirror will be one of the first papers to be made available to readers via their mobile phones when the sites launch in the autumn this year.

Trinity developed the sites to offer readers instant access to national and local news, information and ads on their mobile phones.

Rick Gleave, head of interactive and mobile at Trinity Mirror, said: “[it’s] proof that we are a growing multi-platform media business.”

Scotland’s Daily Record will join the Daily Mirror as one of the first papers to become available via mobile, followed by other regional titles, which may include the Birmingham Post and the Huddersfield Examiner.

Trinity Mirror plan to develop mobile formats for 12 regional titles and two national newspaper titles in total.
