thelondonpaper launches new ad campaign

Newspaper thelondonpaper, the afternoon freesheet published by News International, is launching an ad campaign today using three different ads with straplines including “Nada”, “Zilch”, and “Diddly Squat”.

The ads, reassuring readers that nothing has changed about the paper, follow the London Evening Standard‘s recent “sorry” campaign.

The text on the ads says the title is “still listening, still independent, still celebrating London, still purple,” adding “oh yes, and we’re still free!”.

The campaign launches today and is located across all 70 of the digital XTP sites on the London Underground and at key Network Rail stations.

The latest distribution figures show that thelondonpaper‘s total remained static in April at around 500,800 copies, while rival freehseet London Lite‘s total was around 400,100.

Paid for afternoon title Evening Standard saw its circulation fall 6.4% year on year, to 263,000 copies.
