Carat UK marketing director joins News International

News International Logo Carat UK managing director Neil Jones has joined News International as director of commercial strategy, while Jeremy Schwartz, former marketing director at L’oreal and Sainsbury’s, has been appointed to the board-level role of chief marketing officer.

Jones will report directly to Paul Hayes, managing director of News International commercial. He joins News International after 18 years at Carat.

His new role will see him liaise with advertisers to arrange partnerships and marketing packages.

Schwartz will oversee News International’s consumer-facing marketing and sales operations, working across the company’s stable of titles, including the Sun, News of the World, the Times and the Sunday Times.

The moves come after Roland Agambar, head of marketing for the Sun and News of the World, moved to Associated News & Media as chief marketing officer (see Agambar leaves News International for Associated Newspapers).

Allan MacCaskill, News International’s head of brand marketing, will take on more responsibilities following Agambar’s exit.
