Hulu set for UK launch

US online TV platform Hulu is currently in talks with broadcasters about a possible UK launch.

NBC Universal and News Corp, who are behind the venture, are meeting with possible partners to get the ball rolling, according to reports.

NBC’s president, Peter Smith, said the plan is “local partners with local content – put that rich cocktail of local and US content together”.

Hulu is currently only available in North America but has always been expected to expand internationally, particularly in parts of Europe.

The online TV platform offers programmes such as The Simpsons and The Office, and has US distribution deals with Dailymotion, MSN and Yahoo.

Hulu has also announced plans to launch a new documentary section, which will feature documentary films such as Super Size Me.
