Bauer cuts eight jobs at Kerrang Radio

Bauer Logo Bauer Media is set to cut eight full-time staff members at Kerrang Radio and slash freelance presenters from the station’s 43-strong workforce.

Bauer is expected to buy out staff contracts or simply not renew them when they end, according to reports.

A Kerrang spokesperson said the company has to run a “commercially viable station” that allows it to focus on the “best programming talent and content to connect with, inform and entertain with our listeners”.

Bauer confirmed that it is currently in the process of discussing proposals with staff and said it needs to restructure the team at Kerrang in order to meet its long-term potential.

Kerrang’s programme director Gordon Davidson emailed listeners and commercial partners about the changes at the station.

He confirmed that presenters Christian Stevenson and Emma Scott were leaving to explore other projects and spend time with their families.

Davidson said: “It’s going to be weird for the next few weeks while the changes settle in.”

Nick Margerrison is also leaving Kerrang, with presenters Amy Jones and Singin’ Henri expected to take on his shows.
