WPP Acquires Forward

WPP Acquires Forward

Global advertising and communications group, WPP, has acquired Forward, a UK contract publishing company which specialises in direct customer communications programmes, for an undisclosed sum.

Forward’s clients include Tesco, Egg, British Airways Holidays and Halifax. It reported revenues of £23.2 million in the year to 31 March 2001 and had net assets of £2.1 million at that date.

The acquisition of Forward, which will operate independently within the Specialist Communications division of WPP, continues the group’s strategy of expanding its offer to clients in important growth sectors and markets. Recent other acquisitions include The Brand Union (see WPP Acquires UK Communications Consultancy) and QCi Assessment (see WPP’s OgilvyOne Acquires UK Consultancy).
