Sinyor Leaves Trinity Mirror

Trinity Mirror’s chief executive of newspapers, Joe Sinyor, has resigned as a director and will leave the company today, it was announced this morning.

Sinyor’s departure was predicted in December, alongside reports that he and Trinity chairman, Sir Victor Blank, held disagreements on strategy for the group’s national newspapers (see Sinyor Rumoured To Be Departing Trinity Mirror).

Trinity, the UK’s largest newspaper publisher, today says that the post of chief executive of newspapers has became redundant following the appointment of Sly Bailey as overall chief executive (see Bailey Leaves IPC To Replace Graf At Trinity Mirror). Bailey takes up the role on 3 February.

Trinity Mirror has also announced this morning the appointment of Phil Hall as editorial development director of the national newspaper division.
