CNBC Europe, the financial and business television news channel, is set to launch a live video streaming service which will allow mobile phone users to watch programmes on their handsets.
According to CNBC, the rollout, which covers 17 European countries, is the first to allow a whole channel to be streamed 24/7 to a mobile phone.
The new service will be provided by mobile video streaming group, Newmediacom, and will be available to subscribers who have a compatible handset such as the Nokia 3650.
Mick Buckley of CNBC Europe, said: “This deal re-enforces our leadership position in delivering quality business and financial news throughout Europe on whatever platform our viewers wish to receive us.”
