Omnicom Extends PHD’s Global Reach

Advertising and marketing communications company, Omnicom has announced plans to invest in a global expansion of its PHD media network, extending its presence in markets across Europe, Asia and Africa.

Omnicom will launch the new offices by taking resources from its existing Media Group offices, with the expansion beginning in the final quarter of 2005 and completed by early 2006.

Commenting on the plans, David Pattison, chief executive of PHD Wolrdwide said: “Given our success in North America and the needs if international clients, there has never been a better time to extend our network globally.”

To compliment the expansion of PHD, Omnicom has made a series of management changes, with Colin Gottlieb, chief executive of OMD Europe being promoted to chief executive of Omnicom Media Group Europe and OMD Europe now being headed by Simon Francis as managing director.

Elsewhere, Mike Cooper, chief executive of Asia Pacific has been promoted to chief executive of Omnicom Media Group Asia.
