Omnicom Reveals Upbeat Trading For 2005

Advertising and marketing communications company, Omnicom Group has revealed a 7% increase in net income for the fourth quarter of 2005, reaching $252.6 million, compared to $236.5 million the same time last year.

Worldwide revenue for the group hit $2,939.4 million in Q4 2005, up by 5% from $2,789.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2004. Domestic revenue increased by 9% to $1,575.5 million, while international revenue rose by 1%, reaching $1,363.9 million, from $1,347.2 million in Q4 2004.

Turning to 2005 as a whole, net income for the twelve months ending December 31 enjoyed growth of 9% to $790.7 million from $723.5 million in the same period in 2004. Diluted earnings also performed well, rising by 12% to $4.36 per share, up from $3.88 per share in the same period in 2004.

Worldwide revenue for the twelve months ending December 31 2005 increased by 8% reaching $10,481.1 million, up from $9,747.2 million in the same period in 2004. Domestic revenue for the year continued the upwards trend, rising by 10% year on year to $5,743.9 million, while international revenue increased by 5% to $4,737.2 million.

Last year Omnicom announced plans to invest in a global expansion of its PHD media network, extending its presence in markets across Europe, Asia and Africa (see Omnicom Extends PHD’s Global Reach).
