Andy Duncan Back In Frame For ITV Top Job

Andy Duncan, head of Channel 4, is back in the running for the ITV chief executive role, with reports claiming that a decision will be made next week.

Duncan ruled himself out of the race to succeed Charles Allen in August, although reports in the trade press now say that he is one of the favourites to get the job.

Also named as a front runner is Tim Hincks, Endemol UK chief creative officer, who has apparently been approached by headhunters Zygos about taking up the position.

An unnamed source is quoted as saying: “There is a lot of talk at Network Centre about Tim Hincks being tipped for the top job. Everyone’s talking about it.”

Towards the end of October there were rumours that ITV were lining up a ‘dream team’ of Stephen Carter, former head of Ofcom, as chief executive, and Channel 4’s Kevin Lygo as director of programmes (see ITV Could Get Carter).
