Jon Hewson, chief executive of CN Radio has left the group after three years, saying that he was unable to take the company any further.
Hewson joined CN Radio from the Guardian Media Group and has not ruled out a return to GMG. The group’s managing director, Julie Fair, has been promoted to the chief executive position.
Hewson said: “I’ve decided to move on but wanted to free myself up to look at other options in an open and honest way rather than while I was there.
“I have quite a few options – there are a couple of people I’m talking to and a couple of things I’m thinking about – but it was time to move on from CN.”
