Clive Crouch Appointed Permanent GMTV COO

GMTV has appointed Clive Crouch as its permanent chief operating officer after holding the role on an interim basis for 10 months.

Crouch took charge of the ITV breakfast franchise last October, following the departure of managing director Paul Corley after six years at the helm.

Corley resigned in July 2007 after GMTV phone-in competitions had been found by Ofcom to have cheated viewers out of several million pounds.

GMTV was fined £2 million by Ofcom following misconduct in its viewer competitions between August 2003 and February 2007.
