Market Research Companies Benefit From Three Strong Years

Market research agencies saw profits rise by more than half on average over the last three years, according to research from direct marketing and business publishing company, The Prospect Shop.

The group says that market research agencies are in a highly-successful period of growth. Over the past three full accounting years, the average agency saw profits rise by 51.2% In the same period, sales increased by 25.9%, it reports.

The largest companies by pre-tax profit margin tend to be smaller in terms of turnover. Pinder Fry & Benjamin realised a margin of 63.7% in 1999/2000, followed by Corporate Information at 45.0%. Sales growths were mixed for the more profitable companies, however, ranging from -24.0% to 51% growth across the three years.
