US Dot Com Layoffs Fall To 14 Month Low

According to the research by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, there were fewer than 3,000 job losses in the tech sector in September. This represents a decline of 38% when compared to the total for September 2000.

Although job losses are slowing in the sector, layoffs this year so far stand at 90,871, more than double the total for last year – 41,515. Job losses peaked in April 2001 when 17,554 people were made redundant.
