UK Commercial Radio Quarterly Advertising Trends And Forecasts

Advertising expenditure on UK commercial radio is expected to stand at £492 million for 2001 (excluding revenue from sponsorship and promotions), according to the latest figures from the Advertising Association.

This represents an 8.0% decline year on year, compared to a 6.4% decline across the display marketplace as a whole, with Commercial Radio achieving a 5.7% share of total display.

In Q1 2002, the sector is forecast to show a 5.0% decline, whilst Q2 shows a return to growth of 5.0%. Growth is then expected to improve throughout the year.
