European Home And Work Internet Use Figures From AOL/RoperASW

Around 41% of UK home internet users also have access to the web at their workplace, with approximately the same proportion (40%) using the Net at home, according to research from AOL/RoperASW, as reported by eMarketer.

The study questioned around 500 home internet users in the UK, France and Germany. The three-country total shows that 52% of home users were also online in their workplace in 2002, up from 45% in 2001. Germany currently leads the way with 59% of home internet users also accessing from work.

Work users also make use of the web connection for personal reasons, with checking the news being the most popular activity (59%), followed by planning a holiday (36%).
