Worldwide sales of wireless networking products increased slightly in the first three months of 2003, according to new figures from Dell’Oro Group.
The first quarter is traditionally a slow period for the wireless industry but the emergence of the 802.11g specification more than offset the seasonal decline. The Dell’Oro Group predicts that the wireless networking sector will produce revenues of $1.9 billion this year, a 20% increase from 2001. In addition, it expects unit shipments to rise by 60%.
