UK Becoming A Nation Of Internet Shoppers

Almost one in six UK internet users spend more than £100 online per month, according to a study from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The survey, carried out by Taylor Nelson Sofres, found that net users spend an average of £86 on web purchases each month. Men spend more than women, averaging £95 per month compared to £78 per month.

The vast majority of internet users (86%) spend less than £100 online per month. Some 7% shell out between £100 and £200 while 3% claim to spend between £200 and £500 online in a typical month. The report calculates that the UK online shopping market generates £2 billion per month in sales.
