US Online Advertising Revival Continues In Q2

US online advertising revenues continued to show a return to growth during the second quarter of the year, with expenditure up by 14% year on year, according to the latest report from the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Online spend reached $1.7 billion in Q2 and $3.3 billion across the whole of the first half. This is 10.5% higher than during H1 2002. The new report updates the previous Q1 2003 estimate of $1.69 billion with the actual figure of $1.63 billion.

“For the third quarter in a row, revenue figures mirror the reality of the marketplace, which includes advertiser success and revolutionary research that proves online advertising’s effectiveness. Our prognosis for a continued and steady recovery is being realised and the outlook remains bright. With Internet usage and broadband adoption continuing to escalate, marketers are throwing their weight and dollars behind interactive advertising,” says Greg Stuart, president and CEO of the IAB.
