AOP/IAB Partnership To Grow UK Online Advertising

The UK’s Association Of Online Publishers (AOP) has agreed to work with the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) to accelerate the growth of the online advertising market, which is expected to top £300 million for the first time this year (see Research Shows Online Advertising Boom In 2003).

The partnership will see the two organisations work on a number of initiatives to boost the interactive commercial market, including audience measurement, trade marketing of online, advertising standards and promoting advertising effectiveness.

All AOP members will enjoy free affiliate membership of the IAB and will join several of the IAB’s key task forces. The AOP chairman will also join the IAB leadership council.

The online advertising industry will be celebrating this Christmas with the latest figures showing that adspend topped £151 million in the first half of this year to give the sector a record market share of 2%. The market is now twice the size of cinema and half the size of radio.
