Starcom Drops In Worldwide Revenue Ranking

WPP-owned global media agency, Mindshare, has overtaken rival network, Starcom, to become the number two worldwide agency in terms of revenues, according to the 2003 league tables from Recma.

Over the last year, Mindshare saw revenues growing more than any other network with an 11.1% increase to $19,160 million. Publicis Groupe’s Starcom also managed an increase to $18,865 million – up by 6.9% from 2002 – but this was not enough to hold the number two spot.

The Worldwide Media Agency Networks report shows that Omnicom’s OMD remains at the top spot with worldwide billings rising by 7.9% to $19,335 million in 2003.
