MySpace is to set to rollout a new music section that will link to the iTunes Music Store.
The site has bolstered its music focus with new features including artist data and music videos in a bid to specialise in entertainment and up its game against rival social network Facebook.
The Artist Dashboard feature will allow users to access MySpace data including song plays, fan information, recommendations and trending data, according to reports.
The company’s deal with Apple will also let users buy music from the iTunes Music Store directly from the social networking site.
MySpace’s CEO, Owen Van Natta, said: “Artist Dashboard and Music Videos are an important step forward in our mission to define the future of how content is socialised on the web.”
Van Natta has headed up MySpace’s entertainment drive since becoming CEO in April.
