Matt Brittin, Google UK managing director, gave delegates some tips on how to make their businesses “bionic” at yesterday’s IAB Engage 09 conference.
As well as outlining four key points: be greater with data; leap and learn; use the technology; and faster is better than slower, Brittin also sketched an outline of the digital world we are currently working in and how things could change.
He said that 85% of the digital world is outside the US, making the internet a global phenomenon, with Asia leading the way in terms of people going online via their mobile phones.
According to figures quoted by Brittin, there will be 1.8 billion 3G mobiles added in Asia by 2013.
He added that Britain is “really digital”, with Britons spending per person almost three times as much online as in the US.
Like fellow speaker at the event, “web wizard” Charlie Leadbeater, Brittin also said that cloud computing will be the future of digital as we become able to access the internet from a plethora of devices.
