TV and radio requests on BBC iPlayer broke records once again in January, with a total of 120 million requests across all platforms.

The figures, which include online platforms and devices and iPlayer on Virgin Media TV combined, also reveal that the week of 4-10 January set a new record for total requests (23.8 million) and radio requests (8 million).

Requests from PC/Macs dominated in January for both TV and radio content, said the BBC, although requests for TV programmes via Nintendo Wii increased +1 point to 4% of the total number, and PlayStation3 requests delivered a further 8%.

The profile of BBC iPlayer users is fairly stable at around 60% male/40% female, with most users under 55 years old.
