US online video usage up more than 10% year on year

New US research from The Nielsen Company reveals that the number of unique viewers of online video was up 10.5% year on year in February.

There were 141 million unique viewers in February said Nielsen, up from 127.6 million a year previously.

Among the top web brands ranked in February, the largest increases were for CNN Digital Network (+30.6%), MSN/Windows Live/Bing (+21.4) and AOL Media Network (+17.0%).

comScore recently reported that more than 173 million US internet users watched online video during January.

This was down slightly on December 2009, when nearly 178 million US internet users watched video online.
