Publicis Groupe has reported organic revenue growth of 3.1% for the first quarter, to €1.16 million.
This is a big improvement on the 5.4% decline in organic revenue reported in the fourth quarter. The UK saw organic revenue growth of 1.4% in Q1.
The strong performance came despite an overall 1.5% decline in organic revenues in Europe in Q1, with all other regions enjoying organic growth. North America was up 4.8%, Asia Pacific 6.7%, Latin America 9.8%, while Middle East and Africa grew 7.2%.
Maurice Levy, Publicis CEO, said: “It is too early to say that the global economy has put the crisis completely behind it.
“The recovery is still fragile and subject to a complete recovery of the global financial system. Without yielding to undue optimism, the year has started in a way that bodes well for a 2010 financial period that will be closer to our usual level of performance.”
