180m US internet users watched online video in March

New figures from comScore show that more than 180 million US internet users watched online video during March.

YouTube delivered video to more than 135 million viewers across the month, reaching 3 out of 4 online video viewers at an average of 96 videos per user.

March saw 31.2 billion online videos watched in total – up from 28.1 billion videos in February – with Google Sites (including YouTube) the top video property with 13.1 billion videos, representing 41.8 percent of all videos viewed online.

Hulu was second with 1.1 billion videos (3.4% of all online videos viewed). Microsoft Sites ranked third with 655 million (2.1%), followed by Yahoo! Sites with 478 million (1.5%t) and CBS Interactive with 457 million (1.5%).

UK online video viewing was up 37% year on year in February, comScore recently revealed, with Google Sites up 17% year on year, driven by the popularity of YouTube.
