Digital broadcaster UKTV is planning to launch its first two high definition channels on Sky – Good Food HD, and Eden HD.

Good Food HD is due to launch on the 31 August, and will be available from 5am to 11pm.

Eden HD should be available from early October, and shown from 9am to 3am.

Both channels have also acquired new content to support the HD launch. Good Food’s new shows include Ronnie Corbett’s Supper Club, and a third series of Man v Food.

Eden will be adding Great Rift and South Pacific to its line-up.

This follows the current trend in high definition broadcasting; ITV recently announced that it is to offer HD version of its digital channels.

Earlier today, it was reported that Virgin Media is looking to sell its 50% stake of UKTV.
