LOVEFiLM launches Android app

LOVEFiLM has released an official app for Android smartphones.

The iPhone app has been around for a while now, and has been downloaded more than half a million times, with hundreds of thousands of customers using it to manage their rental lists on the move. Android users have been able to use unofficial apps such as Alf for LOVEFiLM, Eye on LOVEFiLM and Lovedroid up until now, but the launch of the official Android app now gives the company a significant presence across all smartphones.

The App lets users browse and search their way through the full 70,000 strong catalogue of DVDs, Blu-Rays and Games with trailers, reviews and ratings. Users can manage all of their rental lists through the ‘My Lists’ section, adding, deleting, changing priority or swapping titles between lists.

The app is available now in UK, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, with Germany to follow soon, and works best with versions of Android 2.2 onwards.
