Agency estimates put the combined ITV/C4 revenue for June at £184.2m, while Channel 5 brought in £9.7m . ITV’s revenue was put at £140.2m, while C4’s was £44m.

It was the London broadcasters which experienced the greatest year on year changes among the ITV contractors, with Carlton seeing an increase in share of 1.57% points to 16.37% while LWT fell 2.18% points to 11.75% Overall, most of the other franchises showed very small year on year changes.

There was a marked improvement amongst all but one of the categories for ITV/C4 June impacts, with Housewives/Children showing the largest year on year increase: up 7.9% to 4,907. As with the ITV/C4 categories, the lowest impacts for Channel 5 were among Housewives/Children, ABC1 Adults and Men.

There was also a welcome drop in ITV/C4 cost per thousands among all categories, with Housewives/Children falling 10.2% year and both Housewives and Housewives/Children falling by 8.8%. Men saw the smallest drop, down 0.2% to 1,917p. As with ITV, the most expensive audience for C5 to reach was Housewives/Children while its cheapest was Adults.

Both ITV and BBC1 once again lost viewing share to cable and satellite channels, with their share falling by 3.1% points year on year and 2.1% points respectively.Cable and satellite channels however experienced a growth of 2.8% points to 12.2%, which is more than BBC2 and C4. Channel 5 increased its share by 0.1% point on last month, taking it to 2.8%.
