AA hires Media Briefing’s Sutcliffe for content role

The Advertising Association has appointed Chris Sutcliffe as its new content publisher.

In his new role Sutcliffe will lead the strategic publication of the AA’s content with a remit that includes the trade body’s website, newsletters and Annual Review.

Sutcliffe will also continue to produce the Media Voices podcast series and write about technology and the media for publications.

Sutcliffe joins from the now defunct The Media Briefing where he served as its news editor, and takes over from Hannah Vadeskys who is to join WPP as head of content.

“Hannah has done a fantastic job and leaves us in a great position to add a new set of publishing skills to our team at a crucial time for UK advertising,” said Matt Bourn, director of communication, Advertising Association.

“We are working on a number of fronts including how to grow our exports in key international markets, how to increase the number of UK SMEs who advertise and how to address the challenge of public trust in advertising.

“All of this requires content that cuts through and reaches our audience in government and key policy decision-makers. Chris has exactly the right expertise to help us create and deliver content that supports our objectives.”

Sutcliffe added: “It’s a pleasure to be joining the Advertising Association as Content Publisher during such an important period of time for the industry. I’m especially excited to highlight the excellent campaigns on behalf of and by UK brands, advertising businesses and media owners, that the AA is undertaking.”
