Free title John Lewis Edition has overtaken Condé Nast’s Glamour at the top of the Women’s Lifestyle sector, after the handbag-sized magazine saw sales fall -12.0% PoP and -6.8% YoY. John Lewis Edition, published by John Brown, enjoyed a small 2.2% increase on the first half of 2011.
A number of Women’s titles are still holding up well, despite the downturn, with several magazines posting increases over the period and the year, including Good Housekeeping, ASOS.com, Stylist, Prima and Marie Claire. Overall, the market is up 0.5% YoY and 0.8% PoP.
However, some titles in the sector suffered declines, including Cosmopolitan, Yours, Look and Grazia.
