Most of the UK’s national newspaper sites saw a drop in traffic over March with all but one of the audited sites losing unique browsers, according to ABC.
Bucking the trend was the online presence of The Independent, displaying a jump of 21,000 browsers MoM (a 3.4% increase).
Despite remaining the most popular national newspaper site, Mail Online witnessed the biggest actual loss ( – 331,000) with a total of 5.4 million browsers for March.
guardian.co.uk remained in second place, despite an 8% loss, totalling in 3.7 million unique browsers.
Mirror Group continued to lose users (after their 25% drop in February) although not quite as drastically as the month before. The collection of sites dropped 78,000 unique browsers MoM.
