ABC Results Jan-Jun 2007: Home Interest Titles Hold Their Own In Troubled Mag Market
It was a relatively stable period for the home interest sector, with newcomer Ikea Family Live recording the highest ABC, according to today’s consumer magazine concurrent release for the first half of 2007.
Its nearest in-store competitor, Homebase Ideas, now sits at 417,505, following a decline of just over 6,500 copies, year on year, a fall of 1.5%.
NatMags’ House Beautiful was the only title to see a sizeable downturn in the sector, losing more than 14,500 copies year on year (7.5%) with an almost 4% drop period on period. The title’s circulation now sits at just over 180,800 for January to June.
Meanwhile, other featured titles in the homes interest market saw their total ABC slide, with BBC Good Homes, Ideal Home, Real Homes Magazine and Your Home all recording year on year losses of more than 3,500.
BBC Good Homes dipped 2.6% year on year, taking its total to 132,352, whilst IPC Media’s Ideal Home was down just over 1.5% compared to the same time last year. Its total now stands at more than 233,500 for the period.
In May, IPC Southbank launched its much-hyped standalone homes portal, with www.housetohome.co.uk “designed to be a one-stop shop for every home design and decorating need”, according to the publisher, enabling visitors to “develop their homes ideas and dreams with its wide range of planning tools and expert advice(see
