The ABC will host the IFABC General Assembly as part of its birthday celebrations, to mark the 75th year that it has provided the UK media industry with currencies for the buying and selling of space for print, exhibitions and now electronic media.
The IFABC General Assembly, billed as one of the most auspicious occasions in the international media-auditing calendar, will be held in London from Tuesday 3 October to Thursday 5 October.
It will bring together representatives from over 36 auditing bureaux around the globe, providing them with a forum for discussions relating to international and local media auditing, and to focus efforts on further developing the role of the IFABC.
ABC in the UK continues to be a keen supporter of the IFABC, both in developing auditing standards and supporting the creation of locally based ABCs around the world.
ABC is also launching a series of media agency road shows, with the aim of further strengthening links with media buyers. The road shows, which will visit a number of agencies in the coming months, will provide media buyers with an opportunity to hear from key ABC spokespeople about the ABC brand and its future in the media industry, and also give their thoughts and opinions on ABC’s next 75 years.
Chris Boyd, chief executive at ABC, said: “Over the last 75 years the UK media industry has changed immensely. ABC has been part of this evolution every step of the way, and continues to develop new initiatives with media owners, buyers and advertisers to provide a robust and credible currency on which to trade.
“What better way to mark this occasion than by hosting a meeting of the IFABC; bringing together international auditors, with a focus on discussing the future of media auditing at a global level.”
