Ad Decline Slows At Wall Street Journal

Dow Jones & Company, publisher of the Wall Street Journal, yesterday announced that February 2002 advertising linage at the paper declined by 21.5%. This is an improvement when compared to the decrease of 35.5% in February 2001; February 2000 showed 49.5% growth, creating the difficult comparables.

In the year to date, linage declined by 27.4%, compared to a 30.2% decrease the previous year, the company said in its statement.
