Adshel Wins ‘Highly Strategic’ Singapore Contract

Outdoor advertising contractor, Adshel, has won what it claims is the single largest street furniture advertising contract ever. The 15 year deal in Singapore is worth around US$500m (£350 million). Roger Parry, CEO of Adshel’s parent company Clear Channel International, says that the deal is a ‘highly strategic win’.

The contract covers 4,000 advertising faces, giving Adshel more than 85% of the outdoor roadside market in Singapore, given that bus shelter is the only form of outdoor advertising allowed by the Government.

Peter Kemeny, managing director of Adshel in Singapore, said: “We will offer a real alternative to advertisers who are used to using mainly TV and press. Outdoor advertising expenditure in Singapore grew by 51% in 2000 and further growth is expected to continue this year.”
