Aegis Boosts Isobar With Australian Acquisition

Media and research group, Aegis, has today announced the acquisition of the Marketing Resources Management Group (MRM Group), owner of Australian based marketing agency One Digital, for £1.6 million.

MRM Group will now be incorporated into Aegis’ new international media network, Isobar, launched earlier this year to combine the company’s £564 million a year digital and interactive advertising business under a single umbrella brand (see Aegis Creates Global Network For Digital Marketing).

Chief executive, Doug Flynn said: “By 2007, 50% of the media we consume will be digital and the growth of digital channels provides greater targeting ability for marketers. The acquisition of One Digital now helps Isobar, our digital network, to expand its present in the fast growing Australian market.”

In a statement this morning, Aegis said that it may also have to pay consideration payments of up to £6.3 million over for the next four years, depending on revenue performance criteria checks.

One Digital was founded in 1992 and has helped the MRM Group grow during 2003 to achieve revenues of £2.1 million. The company has been very successful in Australia, securing clients including Microsoft, Nestle, Google, Woolworths, Hyundai, Procter & Gamble and HSBC.

Over the past 12 months, Aegis has seen a marked improvement in revenue performance thanks to the recent advertising market turnaround. The group said that its results due out in September are expected to be comfortably ahead of growth expectations which are set at 5.3%.
